Moses and William H. Ward were residents of Brooks County at the time of their enlistments. William H. Ward enlisted in 1861 in Monticello.

I would be surprised if they enlisted so far from home if they were from Walton County, but it is possible I suppose. Most of the Walton County men who enlisted early in the war served in the 1st Florida Infantry.
