I have never seen a description of the howitzers attached to Company M, other than a notation that they were 12-pounders. A solid shot left behind in Marianna verifies this.
Based on the speed of the raid, it makes sense to me they were mountain howitzers pulled on carriages. I do find it of interest that the artillery was never actually used during the raid, despite the fact that the Federals attacked a barricaded position.
