In response to your question they were not native American as far as I know.The Havens settled in the Van cleave Mississippi area in 1802. Before that they lived in Frederick county Virginia .After the revolutionary war a John Havens and his son John Junior moved down to Mississippi. After the Civil War John Flurry Havens , William Havens , Charles Havens , Asenath Havens ,Sabra Havens , ALBERT Havens and their mother and father John Jack HAVENS and Sabra Ann Fletcher Havens moved to Louisiana. My GG Grandfather John Flurry Havens settled in Deridder Louisiana. John Jack later returned to Van cleave Mississippi , along with his grandson Artemus Havens, after John Jacks wife died . Artemus Havens was William Havens son.John Flurry Havens is buried in the Derrider cemetery in Louisiana. more later
