The attack on Fort Myers was an important preliminary episode to the Natural Bridge expedition and battle. I dealt with it briefly in my book "The Battle of Natural Bridge, Florida" and have quite a bit of additional source material. If you are looking for anything in particular, let me know.

It was a strange little affair. Had Major Footman not stopped his attack to offer the garrison a chance to surrender, he probably would have taken the fort.
