There is quite a bit of information about Camfield's activities in the Official Records set. You should be able to find this at any larger library and it is also available online for free through Cornell University at: http://cdl.library.cornell.edu/moa/browse.monographs/waro.html.

The best modern summary I've seen on the campaign is in George Buker's book, "Blockaders, Refugees and Contrabands: Civil War on Florida's Gulf Coast." You should be able to find it through any of the online book stores. Even if you don't find what you are looking for in his book, the author lists his sources for the campaign and that should help you track down what you need.

Best,
Dale Cox
