Jasper N. (J.N.) Wheeler

He was born 1838 in Florida. We think Jefferson Co. He joined the Confederate Army 6/29/1861, the FL 2nd Infantry, Brig. I, Co. L, known as the Madison Rangers. He enlisted as private and promoted to 5th Sgt. on 5/11/1862, then 4th Sgt and 3 Sgt in early 1863. He was promoted to 1st Sgt. 9/1/1863. He was killed at the Battle of Wilderness II on 5/6/1864. Does anyone know where the men in that battle are buried and is there a record of the men killed in that battle? Also does anyone know of any pictures of that unit? My wife has a picture of him in uniform that was in her grandmother's belongings. He is my wife's gr gr uncle. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Charlie L. Ausburn
