Thank you for your response. The Biographical Rosters of Florida's Soldiers 1861-1865, (Broadfoot, 1995)lists that he was detached on Feb 1 1863 (Estimated date detached as scout)and dropped from the rolls on May 1, 1863. The National Archives service records were totally unreadable. Since he did complete a will and was dead before June 1, 1863 he could possibly have died from one of the epidemics that seemed to run rampant in the camps or was just too sick for duty. Is there another place that you recommend that I check?
