I'm looking for eyewitness accounts of a small skirmish that took place during the spring of 1865 at Newton in Dale County, Alabama. The forces engaged included men from the 1st Florida U.S. Cavalry and local citizens or militia.

If anyone has any eyewitness accounts (letter, journals, accounts, diaries, etc.) written by members of the 1st Florida U.S. Cavalry (or the Dale County unit), I would love to hear from you!
