Would like to ask for a little silent prayer for the Brave Boys in Gray who fought the Battle of Natural Bridge on March 6,1865,my 2nd Great GrandFather being one of them!He was a boy of 15 a Courier for the General Staff.Later Known in Tallahassee after the War as MR.LEWIS of the OLD Lewis State Bank, which did not go out of business till 1985.My Grandfather showed me where Grandaddy Lewis showed him where all the dead yankees where after the battle,i wont quote him as to not to upset anybody, but they where mostly black dead soldiers which made him quite MAD!!Grandaddy, who was the last Vice-President of the Lewis State Bank, quoted him as saying "The veterans of the battle Where Extremely proud of being the reason that Tallahassee was the only Confederate Capital East of the Mississippi River not captured".
