Isaac did joined the 1st Florida Cavalry, Union on 3Jan1864. He had served in the 1st Florida Infantry, Co E from 1Mar1862 to about 31Dec1863 at which point they dropped him. During his service with the 1st Florida Cavalry he served as a regimental nurse and was on recruiting duty at East Pass for 4 months. He was promoted to sergeant and then reduced in ranks back to private. Details were not in his muster roll records but the reduction occurred in Janaury 1865. He deserted in May 1865. The desertion charge was dropped in 1888. He did apply for a pension in Jan 1888 but I don't believe he received it before his death. His brothers Lewis and William Henry also served with the 1st Florida Cavalry, Union. Lewis died during the war.
