If they were in Florida in the early to mid 1800's, they may be from the families that founded Two of the towns here in Central Florida. Those towns are named Osteen in south Volusia County and Mims in north Brevard County. these towns are only about 32-33 miles apart. Haven't had a chance to research them properly but it could be a good chance.
