The other inteesting thing. My great grand father, Isaac Porter Pitts who served in the union..cavalry as per your information...orignally joined the confederate infantry in 1862 I believe..do you have information on this as well. So my great grand father Isaac Porter Pitts born in Bonifay fl..1840 seved first in the confederate infantry Florida 1st..I believe..then the Union Cavalry(Florida 1st USA)...quite a military career, eh? His brother, Lewis did the same thing. This is historically interesting as many peopole in northwest florida were more pro-union than they were pro-confederate. It must have created some pretty bad feelings when the men began
returning after the war..some in grey and some in blue. See web site below.
