Sharon: this is great history. Isaac Porter Pitts originally joined the Confederate Infantry as a musician (piper). He also was
quite a singer. I do a little singing myself--google: "charles pitt tenor." Isaac then , as per your research joined the Union Cavalry in Barrancas (Pensacola). He was quite a horseman I am told and would have been very much at home on a horse. I do a little riding myself: google: "charles pitt polo."
