Florida Rangers, infantry (Federal)

ISO primary information about the 1st Battalion Florida Rangers (infantry) and/or the 2nd Regiment Florida Rangers (infantry) mustered-in in late 1863. Sometimes referred to as the 'refugee rangers', composed of Useppa Island refugees and layout Unionists of the Peace River valley. They participated in raids up the Peace River and on Fort Myers in particular. The units were later melded into the 2nd Florida Cavalry (US).

I have on order the muster-in rolls for these two units from the State Archives. Any other information - uniform (if any) or unit designations/identifiers like colored sashes or hat cords, unit histories, would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking at the possibility of raising a living history/reenactment unit in the area.
