My fellow historian and friend, Sharon Macdonald, is writing a history of the 55th Massachusetts.

The biggest problem she faces is creating a map of the battle of plaster

One reason for the problem is that there isn't an early topographical map of the battlefield

Another reason is that no one has drawn a decent battle map, including the famous map by Boyd

Sharon has been on able to visit the battlefield because until recently she was working on two books trying to get them ready for a publisher. And at this point she's had surgery on her foot

So I'm calling on everyone interested in the battle to get in touch with me to help my friend

Anyone who is familiar with the terrain of the battlefield should contact me

Also, we need to know if anyone has done an archaeological study of the battlefield
