My wife is Mary Frances Durden McFatter. The Jesse Durden who was killed by the "Regulators" in Calhoun County was her Greatgrand Father. He was the father of James Miles Durden. James M Durden was the father of Luther Martin Durden her father.
She knew very little about her father's family growing up in Pensacola. It seemed that the family wanted to keep their past history quiet. Which may have been a good idea idea in the early to mid 20th century Florida?
I have been doing family research and stumbled across news reports of these "murders" searching findagrave.com.
