Looking for information on James M.N. Short, Co. K, 44th Mississippi Infantry. He was captured at Missionary Ridge, and I have 2 stories of his fate, and was wondering if anyone here could help.
One is he was captured and sent to prison and died, and the other states he was wounded, and captured in a hospital, where he died.
Any idea where he might have been hospitalized? Gravesite? Any online sources to check Northern Prisons?
His records list him as J.M., J.N., J.M.N., and several other ways.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
