Re: Captain William Brown
In Response To: Captain William Brown ()

Captain William Brown and family emigrated to Harrison (Boone County), Arkansas in the 1870s from Fannin County, Georgia. William died there in about 1916. His brother Charles E. Brown was in the army with him, but he died of measles in the military hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee, leaving his wife and two children. He was buried in Confederate Cemetery a few miles east from the hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee. William also had a nephew Charles German who died in the military hospital in Brandon, Miss. after he received the wound in the Siege of Vicksburg, Miss. I dont know anything about William's life in Boone County, Arkansas.
