Roy,
The 38th Georgia was an Army Of Northern Virginia unit. The CSA Army that defended Atlanta, was the Army of Tenneessee. The 38th was part of the Lawton-Evans-Gordon Brigade, and surrendered with Lee's Army of N. Virginia on 9 Apr., 1865.There is a small history, including the battle flag at:
