Nazareth Allen

I know that Nazareth Allen was a guard at Andersonville Prison during the Civil War. He was in Co. A 3rd Ga Reserves from Macon, Ga. It is my understanding he was supposed to have been a witness in the trial of Commander Henry Wirz but I have been unable to find any information to verify whether or not this is true. Has anyone seen the trial transcript or remember if any mention of Nazareth Allen was a witness at the trial. I hope he was not a witness for the prosecution if he was a witness. I believe when the 3rd Ga. reserve was called back to Macon for re-assignment Nazareth Allen went AWOL and stayed home instead of going to fight. He was up in age by that time in his life. Anyone that can help me with this I would appreciate.
