Re: 55th ga.co E-Miller Wildcats

Searching for information on Lieutenant James Lane, Co. E, 55th GA, who escaped his captors at Cumberland Gap on September 11, 1863, together with his Captain, Robert Duncan Chapman. An account of their experiences is given in Captain Chapman's book, "A Georgia Soldier", published in 1922, re-printed in 1930, as well as a recent reprint by Robert Sonfield of the Chapman Family Association.
I am looking for biographical information on Lieutenant James Lane and a photograph, if possible.

Cordially,
