Nothing about his being wounded, but to be captured alone would be unlikely unless he was a straggler, and he would not have been the only straggler. Many of those labeled simply as captured at Gettysburg were actually wounded men who were afterwards taken prisoner. If this soldier was seriously wounded (and he would not have been mentioned if only slightly wounded), he may have been left behind as Gordon's brigade returned towards Gettysburg, and taken captive. If he recovered, he probably would have been sent on to Fort Delaware, or first David's Island, NY to recover.
