I'm looking for info on a Major Canfield(?) who led a contingent of Rebs into N. Fl, Lafayette County and Taylor County, to put down the Unionist activity in that area in 1864. We had understood he came from Alabama but I haven't been able to locate a Canfield in Alabama, and I have located one in the 29th Ga. Cavalry. Any help will be MOST appreciated!! God bless!
