Re: H Co. 21st Inf Reg. WI in Dalton, GA

THANKS! You gave me enough pieces of the puzzle in those few sentences to hit pay dirt! Though John Subra was not listed in the Marietta Nat'l Cemetery listings on their web site, two men killed the same day from the same unit (one was the only other one killed from H Company that day) were. They were both buried at the New Hope Church first, then moved to MNC. They were buried in plots C-1881 and C-1883, with no listing for C-1882.

I called the number on the MNC site (interment.com etc.) and was eventually given a number to a very kind gentlemen at the cemetery. He looked up John Subra, and sure enough had him listed as buried in C-1882! This gentleman is even going to send me a color picture when his e-mail is up and running again.

Thanks once again. I had very little hope of finding his grave. You pointed me in the right direction, and the rest is history.
