23rd Georgia- Company G

My son and I have been researching my ggrandfather and his brother, who were both members of Company G of the 23rd Georgia Regiment.
They were:
James T. KItchens (my ggrandfather) Private-April 7, 1862. Captured at Chancellorsville, May 3, 1863 (May 2nd?) Paroled at Fort Delaware, Delaware May 1863. Exchanged at City Point, Virginia May 23, 1863. AWOL November 21, 1863- April 30, 1864. He apparently mustered into the unit in Blountville, Alabama. Records we copied at the Georgia Archives indicate James T. served on James Island, S.C. as a teamster in September 1863. The records also indicate he was included on a roll of prisoner of war records forwarded from Old Capitol Prison (Washington D.C.) We assume he was part of the 23rd Georgia captured during the Jackson flanking action on May 2nd. Is this a safe assumption?
My grandmother related a story about James having lost part of his nose in action and then not receiving any medical attention while he was in the prison camp.

William T. Kitchens (Brother of James T.)- Private- August 31, 1861. Mustered at Camp McDonald. Records of several hospital stays in Richmond, Va. and Danville, Va.. W.T. also served as a sub overseer at the Holmes House on James Island, S.C. Any idea what the Holmes House was?
Both brothers survived the war and are buried together in Cherokee County, Georgia.
Any other information on tbe brothers or Company G would be appreciated.
