I agree with Gary; there would be no connection whatsover between these two Georgia units. Officers and men of Clinch's Georgia cavalry received arms, pay, uniforms and equipment from Confederate quartermasters.
Officers and men of the 4th Georgia Cavalry (State Guard) received arms, pay, uniforms and equipment from the State of Georgia. State Guards operated under orders of Gov. Brown within the boundaries of the State of Georgia.
