Apparently, Brig. Gen. John K. Jackson is buried in an "unmarked" grave in the City Cemetery in Augusta, GA. Does anybody know how such a high-ranking general, who died shortly after the war, in his home state, from pneumonia, could be buried with no marker?

It seems like there must be a story here?
