My great great grandfather John W Fulwood, Corporal, 50th GA Co. E enlisted Thomas Co. GA 22 Mar 1862 and died of swamp fever while engaged in blocking the rivers to revent Union ships from utilizing them. He was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, confederate section, Macon, GA on 24 Apr 1862. Anyone with history of this event or knowledge of my ancestor and is willing to share with me would be greatly appreciated.
