In Response To: 11th GA Infantry ()

One of my g-g grandfathers was in company F also. He was killed while on picket duty May 6th at the Wilderness. He was somewhat unusual in that when he joined he was 41 years old and 6'1" tall. His name was Hugh Moore. Keith Bohannan has found many photos of 11th guys and their initial uniforms. Many are in Military Images magazine and in the books already mentioned. The "Georgia Remembers" book has been out since last fall, not coming out this summer. Check also a book called "Portraits of Conflict-Georgia" that has many 11th men in it. The regt's crowning moment (Anderson's Brigade)was at the Wheatfield. Rick Reeves did a great painting (print) of them there.
