I am the great-granddaughter of John J. Shadix who was in Company E 35th Georgia Infantry along with his father Green B Shadix, his brothers-in-laws George Diggs, Henderson Thomas and Joel Thomas.

As a young girl I had heard stories about my great-grandfather and it wasn't until I read Red Clay to Richmond, Trail of the 35th Georgia Infantry Regiment CSA by John J Fox, III that the stories became real to me.
