I was wondering if someone could give me some background information on Colonel J. C. Cole (I believe the first name is James). From what I understand, he served with the commissary dept, but I've been unable to discover very much about his service. Though his messages in the OR come up signed 'Colonel J.C. Cole', I find that he his listed as a lieutenant colonel elsewhere. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for your time and attention.
