My husband's great grandfather was John Chester Rainey. I have found where he married 2 sisters in Butler Co., AL and his great grandmother in 1868 in Crenshaw Co., AL. We have his service records, when and where he died, (1880, Butler Co.)don't know where he was buried and found him on the 1866 census of AL but have not been able to find him on any other census nor do we know the names of his parents or if he had siblings. We know the children by the last wife but he had 2 other children probably raised by the 2 sisters parents whose last name was Morris. Can anyone tell me where to go from here? The children and his wife listed that he was born in AL.
