In Response To: James A. Laborius ()

There's only one instance of this name in the NPS, listed as Joseph A. Laborous. He belonged to Company "A", 3rd Battalion, Hilliard's Alabama Legion. Capt. Perry's company was recruited in Henry County, Ala., in the southeast corner of the state, and Laborous may have been from St. Joseph's, Fla.

Accepted in Confederate service at Montgomery, Ala., Mar. 10, 1862, Perry's company mustered there on Apr. 10, 1862. It later became Company "E" of the 60th Alabama Regiment.

You can get copies of this man's service files through the message board link seen below. There's no guarantee that any Confederate grave at Petersburg is properly marked, but many soldiers were buried at Blanford Cemetery near the city.
