GA 16th Partisan Ranger Battalion

I am looking for information about H.C. Christian, who was most commonly known as Hal Christian. Hal Christian was born and lived in Jones County, Georgia.

The service information that I have about him is that, in March of 1863, he enlisted in Monticello, Jasper County, in Company C, 16th Partisan Ranger Battalion. He was one of six recruits.

As you know, the Morgan's Men Association has good information for Georgia on:

Co. A, 14th Battalion;
Palmers Batter Georgia Light Artillery; and
16th Georgia Calvary Battalion.

This information can be found by googling on Morgan's Men Association, or at their website at"

Information for units from other states is also included. This is very good information and regimental history.

What do you know about Jasper County information? I have gone to the website, but did not find information about these enlistments. There is some information about natives of Jasper County who served in units other than those raised in Jasper County; however, Hal Christian was not a native of Jasper County, he was a native of nearby Jones County.

What's Hal doing, Colonel?

Most sincerely,
Terri Anne Hastings
