"Arny L, 18th regiment, company K." This is very interesting, as the 18th Georgia did not get to Mississippi
that I know of. My folks were in Co. A. The unit was in the ANV. The farthest west it got was Chickamauga, though they were not engaged. They fought at Knoxville, where Col S.Z. Ruff was killed, and then went back to Virginia with Longstreet. My great uncle was captured in Roswell, Ga., while on leave recovering from a wound. I wonder what Mr. Arny was doing in MS. He is not listed on the roster of Co. K of the 18th, so it may be a case of mislabeling. Stan
