Pruden's Battery was organized on May 12, 1864 in Atlanta, Fulton County. Before it had finished recruiting enough men it was sent to Milledgeville, Balwin County in August 1864. The company joined the "Capitol Guards" to defend the capitol. It was in Baldwin County that they finished recruiting men to join the unit. Since Putman and Jones Counties are right next to Balwin I think it is a good bet it was him.

Pruden's battery was the artillery unit for the capitol Guards. The Georgia Military Institute Cadets were the Infantry and Talbot's Scouts was the cavalry unit.
