The Sixth Georgia and other regiments took casualties that day and in the days prior to and following the Action at Philadelphia, TN on 20 OCT 1863 and to say proof positive that this was your ancestor would be making an incorrect historical assumption. Remains were removed by families post-war and some always were unmarked and over the years were forgotten.
