I'm looking for information on my GG Grandfather Simon Peter Howard who was a sargent in the 26th. I believe he enlisted in Ware county originally with the 1st and was redesignated into the 26th when they joined Jacksons Corp. My local historical society has a copy of "South Ga Rebels" but they don't loan it out. He applied for a pension in the 1900's and was on furlough when the army surrendered at Appomattox. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
