Does anyone know if it is considered as a crime, if someone has altered the entries on a copy of a Confederate Miitary service record, even if this was done outside of the U.S.?
We have copies of the original document from the file that is held at the National Archives, and the copy of the page, when compared to the document known to be altered, shows nothing of some statements that were very obviously faked and written on the altered copy. Not only is the handwriting totally different from the other handwriting on the document, but the additions are very poor attempts at a forgery, anyway.
