16th Ga Cav, Sam Baird, Co H

I found the following story. It is very interesting, but it is difficult to reconcile “my” 16th Ga Cav. The valley campaign is not mentioned but Baird claims to have gone through the Overland Campaign.

CWSS does have him in Co H 13th Ga Cav, so that is apparently right. What does this all mean? Was Company H a completely detached unit?

Can anyone tell me what this is about?
