**This company was organized in September, 1861, for one year, as Capt. DuBose's Company Georgia Volunteers. Upon the organization of the 2nd Battalion North Carolina Infantry in November, 1861, it was assigned to that battalion as Company E. In May, 1862, the company was re-organized for the war. It was transferred to the 60th Regiment Georgia Infantry . . . . April 11, 1864, and became (New) Company A of that regiment.
Hence, he was assigned to Company E, 2nd North Carolina Infantry Battalion when he died
