Wilbur, The 45th Georgia Infantry surrendered with General Lee with 8 officers and 85 enlisted soldiers. The unit was organized in March of 1862 as a full regiment which means it had about 100 soldiers to a company and there were ten companies to a regiment or about 1,000 soldiers when the regiment started off. Company C for the most part was made up of volunteers from Dooly County Ga. Based upon the regiments loss one could say that 90% of Company C was gone by the end of the War. Needless to say, they saw a lot of action.
