Mr. Rodgers, I recommend, "300 Days in a Yankee Prison," by Jack H. King. Like your ancestor, the author was paroled at Vicksbutg. Rather then rejoining his regiment, King sought service in the 6th Georgia Cavalry, only to be recaptured. No two people have identical experiences. Yet the story of King and your ancestor are close enough to give a vicarious insight into your ancestor's experence. If interested, we have a heritage group, the 6th Georgia Cavalry Assocation. Basicly we are a net work for descendents of the regiment. If interested, I can be contacted at <
