I recently ran across some newspaper articles mentioning this man as going to jail for CW pension frauds. He was born circa 1825 in either AL or VA, and was alive (with wife Margaret) in Mineral Bluff, Fannin County in 1903 (he was in fact mayor of the town). Does anyone know when he died and/or how he got the title "colonel"?
