I will be traveling to Georgia next month to participated in an authentic reenactment. I will be portraying J.H. Hill a private with the 4th Brigade, 11th Regiment, Co. D, Georgia Militia. (Source: Bragg, William Harris and William R. Scaife. Joe Brown's Pets: The Georgia Militia, 1861-1865, Macon: Mercer University Press, 2004, 303) I was wanting to learn more about this soldier. Specifically where he was from, his family members etc.. Can anyone give me more information about this Company, where it was organized or about J H Hill.
