Ripley's Brigade consisted of the 1st NC, 3rd NC, 4th GA & 44th GA infantry regiments.

The Doles-Cook Brigade History has narrative histories of both the 4th & 44th GA regiments during their time with Ripley's Brigade.

Also, consult the Georgia & North Carolina volumes of the multi-volume Confederate Military History, edited by Clement A. Evans.

The old Confederate Veteran magazine will have articles on the brigade as well.

Finally, the regimental & brigade reports found in the 128-volume Official Records (War of the Rebellion).

Most good libraries will have the above.
