The Georgia in the Civil War Message Board

13th/16th Battalion Ga. Cavalry

I am continually researching the history of the 13th Battalion of the Ga. Calvary. I have gleaned much information from the various postings that have been made on this board over about 15 years. I am in the progress (very slowly) of attempting to extract all of the surviving data in the CSR of each soldier that served in this battalion (about 2500-3000). This is an interesting journey, some individuals only have 1 sheet that survived in their file and some have has many as 40 cards. By combining that data I have already extracted I have quite a collection of data as to where they were located during the Civil War.

Parts of this battalion served with John Hunt Morgan, then transferred to the Army of Tennessee., fought in Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland many fought as dismounted infantry, some were recruiting men or horses in various locations. If there is anyone who has access to any soldier letters, journals or other information you would share. I will appreciate your help.
