Walter and Gregory,

I have been hearing the same budget constraints with other states too. I can tell you that university presses have been severely cutback on publishing and that looks like it will be the case for the foreseeable future.

I don't anticipate that the Federal government [this administration] will do anything unless it is to their advantage. The time and attention given to the Nashville floods, Gulf Coast, and the frequency of presidential visits to Southern states other than Northern Virginia attest to that fact.

It looks like an opportunity for private enterprise to step in where government fails. An entrepreneurial opportunity which is what makes America great.
