It is amazing to me that there is very little history on Company B or Company A. My great grandfather, Kindred Braswell served in Company A of the 29th Battalion, and although I have in my possession papers from the National Archives, I can not locate any information about his particular company. Word was passed down from my grandfather and father that one of Kindred's duties (among others I'm sure) was to "round up deserters." Although he was only a Private, he was indeed "patriotic", having been born on the Fourth of July in 1845 in Randolph County, Georgia and was later married to Mary Katherine Faircloth. They both made Decatur Co. their home. (Actually, the area is known as the Spring Creek Community (now Seminole Co.) Most of my Braswell ancestors are buried at Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, including my great grandfather.
It is interesting to note that from his papers I learned that he was taken prisoner and escorted to Camp Leon in Tallahassee, Florida. After his release, he returned to the land he loved and farmed which is now, unfortunately, covered over by Lake Seminole.
I would appreciate hearing from any one who has any further information.
