Re: Colonel Elihu P. Watkins, 56th Georgia

Pam,

The text you quoted in the referenced post matches identically to the text I read in a book at the Courthouse Museum in Vicksburg 3 days ago. However, the document they had was a photocopy and was missing several pages. The book is called "SKETCHES FIRST REGIMENT GA. VOLS. TOGETHER WITH THE HISTORY OF THE 56TH REGIMENT GEORGIA VOLS.," by Lt Oscar A. Cantrell. My great grandfather was in the 56th and this book details much of what that unit did during the war. Would you happen to have a complete copy of the book or know where I might find one? It was published in 1864 so I doubt that it's still in print. Thank you.
